Ben Gurion Airport — Navigation Aids

Lod, Israel

Monitoring and control of the navigation aids that guide every landing and departure at Israel’s main international airport.

In every landing and departure, around 100 systems are involved. This project monitors and controls five of them — the Navigation Aids Sites Control System — alongside standard AC and building control.

  • VOR — direction indication
  • DME — distance indication
  • ILS — landing angle and runway centre point
  • NDB — general direction
  • DF — direction finding for transmitting aircraft

The control system displays equipment and machine status and alarms, and lets operators enable or disable equipment from the HMI in the main control room.
